Mid Day posting

Just a quick posting midday before I go back out to work with dogs....they are already exhausted.....i will give everyone a 1 hour rest and then back to work....last night linda wanted A/C in the bedroom....so i shlepped up an extra one and WE BOTH  HATE IT....i woke up with a intense headache...i rather be hot then have the A/C....so that was taken out of the window...

I have a few new kennel dogs with me....my Cleveland dog Oliver has left today and I have 2 new Yorkies that just came in for a 6 week boot camp..they dogs are 1.5 years old but they need it all. From housetraining on down..each dog weighs 4lbs and they are very small...this should be lots of fun..using my training methods on such small dogs..

coco and cola out for a potty break.

Fargo who has been with me off and on over the last few months while his owners travel has come back for a little 1 week mini bootcamp...he got a big welcome from Clover when he arrived and continued where he left off...having fun and running around.

It looks like we have a Fargo sandwich...fargo playing with matrix and cottonball....yes...tina..i have not bathed cottonball in 2 weeks...he stinks...he is dirty...he is crusty...but boy is he trained...ill bathe him before he comes home on monday

Fargo showing everyone why he's the king of the hill

fargo...just remember it's lonely being the king

everyone has been swimming all week for over 2 hours each day in between training..it has been very hot

Sassy and Shadow in a sit/stay for 15 minutes while the other dogs swim and play...this is a great training tool..it shows the dogs that they have to be ready for work at any moment...

another angle of shadow and sassy in a sit/stay....these dogs are from NH and they have started doing very well with the obedience work...

shadow resting in the training yard...this is his favorite spot..since i usually sit in the chair he is in front of and he loves resting by my feet....

Cottonball, who never really swam before coming to me...enjoys the pool...he told me he wants to come back for another 2 weeks this summer....i told her to ask her parents first.

I'm off to work more dogs....got to go....

I still find it amazing that you can keep your pool so crystal clean with all those dogs : ) Matrix looks like he is having a blast!

    ok, you guys-
1)I can't imagine having been under the stress you both have and still training...maybe Clover and Romey took over. I hope things have straightened out for you. Years ago when I trained ponies I remember thinking how much easier horses were than kids ( at times ) so that must extend to dogs---

    2) This is confess-my-weakness time: I am totally stunned by how much I miss my doggies---Mosey has that look of "ok,ok, I promise I'll do it" and I hope Mr. Harley is paying attention- I confess I was hoping the dogs and the girls would fall in love...

When you finally get over the stress could you-all indulge me and let me know how they are. It's good timing: Rhode Island Monthly is going to do a story on the store, Kim's house and mine. However, that's not nearly as important as the boys learning to stay so I don't have insurance problems..

I hope all of you are fine and full of humor(we know that's true) and forgive me for being so schmaltzy...
    hugs, karen
Who knew I'd be a mess? Maybe other souls are too...

well.....the great thing is that linda handles the family and I can concentrate on the dogs..i also have a really great staff that does an incredible job with the dogs..if it was not for my great staff i would not get the results I have with my kennel dogs...

as far as your dogs..they are doing great..it seems like the obedience part is very very new for harley...he is listening but not quite understanding...could use some more time hear to fully understand  what we expect of him...mosey is doing great...as far as falling in love with the kids....we don't dish out too much love in the affectionate type of way..more in the firm structured way...it is important that the dogs don't jump up on the kids or take things from them...they are doing great with this.....

we are really making sure that the PLACE command is instilled in both of your dogs so they will be good store dogs...we work on this continuously........did you go to the kennel journal part of the website? it has a page for your dogs
